Bike Concepts Gone Wild: Superheroes, Star Wars & More

Superhero Power Bike Concept Design

Superheroes have many powers, and they usually have some kick ass transportation method which becomes their trademarked gadget. Batman has his Batmobile, Spiderman has his net swing and the list goes on and on. With the increasing number of superheroes being created by Marvel, DC Comics and many others, it sometimes feels like there is an epic battle brewing. At some point there will be a clash, a breakdown and a choosing of sides. We’ve seen it before, not only in comics, but in movies as well. Superheroes don’t always get along, and that’s where the spark comes from. However, what would happen if they all used the same mode of transportation? Would that level the playing field a little?

There is one illustrator who thought about that idea, and it wasn’t long before he got to work. Mike Joos’s idea was simple and effective, let’s put them all on bicycles. But if you think those bikes were the usual ones, you are badly mistaken. He let the bikes be a reflection of the characters themselves. The result is not only clever, but also entertaining and funny.

The madness continued, and the list of illustrations grew longer and now includes not only superheroes but also characters from our youth. How about the Cookie Monster, Han Solo, Mr. T and Darth Vader? That should lay the ground for some hilarious laughs, right? And that is absolutely correct! These illustrations are some of the most creative I have seen in a while, and whenever I check them out, I get a huge smile on my face and a deep laugh forms in the pit of my stomach. Hmm, that sounded more like a villains laugh, didn’t it? Oh well, so be it, but I am all for the good side! All of these and a lot more are available for purchase over at Mike’s Etsy store.
