Best Math Teacher Ever: Technology Tricks Using Live Action & Video

Teacher Technology YouTube Tricks

This guy gets the award for being the best math teacher ever. If all teachers were like this, kids wouldn’t want to cut class, and they would actually look forward to going to school. Matthew Weathers, a math teacher at Biola University in Southern California, came up with a great way to teach his students a valuable lesson while entertaining them with some little technology tricks.

He likes experimenting with mixing live action and video, which is what this is all about. He teamed up with student Cornell Herg, a freelancer, to create this presentation which looks like a big magic trick happening live on YouTube.

I cannot for the life of me figure out how he did this. If you look really closely at the beginning of the video, you can see the classroom door open and close slightly. Did he crawl out of the classroom at that time? Obviously a lot of this was prerecorded video, but the way he interacts with the video is truly magical. As one YouTube commenter said, “Damit, you tricked me into watching school.” Yeah, that’s what I’m saying. He tricked me into watching school about twenty times because I keep watching this over and over. Like I said… Best. Teacher. Ever.
