A Geek’s Final Frontier: The Starship Enterprise Wind Chimes

Starship-Enterprise-Wind-Chimes-Etsy

Alright, well, technically this thing doesn’t make noise, so I guess it’s not a wind chime, but I don’t know what to call it then dannngit, so I’m just going to call it a wind chime. I guess I could call it a mobile, but then it seems like it should be hanging above a baby’s crib, so that’s not quite right either. Even though I don’t know what to call it, that doesn’t take away from how much I want to hang one of these badboys outside my bedroom window.

According to Etsy user Raymond Davidson aka RaysScraps, he had to take a crash course in physics and balance points before he could figure out how to make this Starship Enterprise out of wood octagon rings. Dang, you are for real Ray. I’m thoroughly impressed.

The thing is, if you look at this for a minute, it’s really trippy (and no, I haven’t been drinking, really). It looks like the Enterprise, but then it looks like a bunch of rings, but then it looks like the Enterprise, but then it looks like a bunch of rings. Yeah, it’s been a long week, what can I say. The real question is, if I didn’t tell you this was the Enterprise, would you have been able to tell? Of course you would have. I know our readers have geek cred. You can pick this up for 75 smackers on Etsy, which I’m sure is a small price to pay compared to how long it took Ray to create it. If I get this, I’ll hang it outside with a sign that says, “If you enter the premises, the lady inside will electroshock you with a taser, and you will be incapacitated.” Yep, that oughta keep the bad guys away.
