When artists mix up traditional gender norms, it’s always fun to see. Watching men and women reverse roles is a hoot, even if it’s a little bizarre. I remember when I wrote about men in pin-up poses. The day I wrote that one, it had me giggling all day. This is another cute one, and since it’s about superheroes, I knew I had to share it with you.
According to Dur Dur Hur, these are male superhero costumes if they were designed like female superhero costumes. In other words, subtract the oversized capes and add a lot of skin. She created these just for fun. Her three goals were to make you think of sex, make it so human males feel uncomfortable, and make it funny.
I know she succeeded on two goals, but I’m not sure about the third. Men, do you really feel uncomfortable when you look at these? Maybe it’s just that you can’t imagine fighting crime half nekkid. I’m sure you’ll get used to it. After all, Wonder Woman has been doing it for years. I still can’t figure out how she manages to kick ass while keeping her girls in that costume, if you know what I mean. I love the colorful creativity in these. It would be great to see more added to this collection. How about Hulk in a thong, another Batman with some bat pasties (like in this article), and… Yeah, I’m getting a little carried away with this concept.
