2011 News Made With Lego

It’s that time again when we are starting to see all those year-end lists and annual photography collections. I always look forward to those because they are usually the best-of-the-best, and it’s always fun to reminisce about the past year while looking ahead to everything the new year will bring.

The Guardian is a website known for those kinds of lists, but the way they did it is truly unique and very special, in a geeky kind of way. They created a flickr group called News in Lego. There are currently 34 members in the group, and they invite anyone to join who wants to upload their Lego 2011 news creations.

They recently chose 10 of those pictures and published them a post called 2011 in Lego: the year’s news – in pictures. Can you tell what each one of the events is below? Some of them are obvious, and some of them are a little more challenging to figure out. My favorite is definitely the Charlie Sheen one. It’s not as fancy as the rest of the intricate builds, but it sure is funny. Click on the original Guardian post for the answers, and to read a little bit more about each one of these events. I put a bonus picture at the end, which wasn’t part of the original collection.

This Steve Jobs minifig wasn’t part of the original collection, but in my opinion, it definitely deserves to be here.
