Usually when we see the rock and pop stars of today, they always have a certain kind of glamour to them. Sometimes that glamour can deceive us by making us think these people are wealthy beyond our wildest dreams. It’s not uncommon for stars to want to portray themselves as almost unmatched when it comes to how much money they are banking. But, that couldn’t be farther from the truth since most of what we see are sponsorships and gifts they are given throughout their careers. However, don’t think all stars are struggling to maintain their status in the world. There are quite a few artists out there who are banking a lot of money and are able to put themselves on the list of the world’s richest rockstars.
In a fresh infographic created by NowSourcing, MTV lists the ten richest rockstars (living) in the world, and you will be surprised to familiarize yourself with some of the names on the list. When I say rich, I really mean beyond imagination wealthy. So, who’s topping this infographic called Who Are The World’s Richest Rock Stars? You might have been hinted about it through the years since his name has been flaunted in more than just music news. However, you don’t have to make all your money through music in order to be the richest rockstar on the planet.
The number one richest rockstar still living is actually Bono with an estimated fortune of around $1 billion. That’s a lot of money for an artist, but he has become much more wealthy thanks to the world’s first and youngest billionaire ever, Mark Zuckerberg. Bono’s investors acquired a 1% stake in the Facebook brand and did so for $90 million which is estimated to be worth around $1 billion today. That’s a pretty good investment, wouldn’t you say?
On the list we also find Sir Paul McCartney in second place with an estimated $800 million and Madonna in third with $650 million. We also find Sean “Diddy” Combs, Mariah Carey, Sir Elton John, Jay-Z, Mick Jagger, Sting and Keith Richards. But everything isn’t all about money, is it? One thing is for sure though and that is that if you have a good mind for business and start out as a singer or songwriter, you certainly have a shot at banking some cash before your career is over. Well, some of the less fortunate have managed to spend it all before they actually earned it, and as a result, we sometimes hear about houses, cars and all kinds of things being auctioned off. But the richest rockstars if the world seem to know what they are doing, and that’s why we have this magnificent infographic telling us about it.
