If you are a designer, it doesn’t really matter what kind, you know that the places where you can get inspiration are unlimited. The mindset is pretty much, “If you can visualize it, you can create it,” when it comes to designers of all kinds. Sometimes though the mashings can become as odd as the mind itself. Just because it is a weird mashup, does is automatically mean it is a good one? Well, I guess that is entirely up to how each person views things. We here at Bit Rebels have seen a lot of weird bundlings, and we know it is not about to stop anytime soon. Do we think they are all good? That is not for us to decide, we leave that in your capable hands to figure out.
Shoe designers (or maybe I should say fashion designers) have a tendency to go where no one has gone before. They seemingly love to play around with different concepts, and the creations they sometimes bring forward are some of the most unearthly ones you have ever seen. They are of course not meant to be worn by “normal” people, but to be showcased on a runway somewhere to gain respect, or at least that is how I see it.
Prada recently unveiled a lineup of shoes inspired by old classic cars, and they are anything but dull. At first sight you might not notice this fact, but when you really start to look at them, you see all the cross references they have made in the form of small details. Suddenly it becomes clear what car and sometimes even what model they have used as inspiration. I wonder, are you ladies out there ready to cruise around in these badboys anytime soon? These are, after all, meant to be worn by you. Are these something you would wear to a friend’s party, or are these meant for a glass enclosed cabinet somewhere for public viewing? I guess you know this better than I do.
