Unusual Art: Darth Vader Portrait Created With Salt

Darth Vader Created With Salt

If there is one thing that being a writer at Bit Rebels has taught me, it’s that art can be created from absolutely anything. Where one person might see trash, another person creates a treasure. We’ve seen it countless times, and although I don’t know the exact numbers, my guess would be that we’ve written hundreds of articles about creative art made from unexpected and unusual things.

I don’t know why, but when I see this type of art created from food, it’s usually the most interesting to me. Just take a look at these Oreo cookie portraits, these paintings on marshmallows, this toaster made out of toast, this adorable bread and these Pac-Man dumplings, and you’ll know what I’m talking about. We’ve seen such cool food designs that now something has to be reeeeally outstanding to catch my attention.

This design below does just that. Richard wrote about this artist, Bashir Saltani, last month when he created Super Mario and Link with salt. His collection is called Art with Salt, and this is his version of Darth Vader. When you watch the video, you’ll see that the salt he uses is in a standard salt shaker. He sprinkles it on his canvas and then smooths it into place with a piece of plastic. I can’t even imagine how someone would look at a salt shaker and think, “Gee, I could make art with that.” It’s fascinating to me. It proves that we are only limited by our imaginations!
