The Evolution Of Man: 13 Creative Parody Illustrations

The-Evolution-Of-Man-Illustrations

The evolution of man is such an interesting topic to me. Since I grew up in a Christian family, and we lived in the bible belt of the south, my first exposure to the evolution of man was through the stories of Adam and Eve in Sunday school. Later in elementary school, most of us learn that we originated from ape-like ancestors who existed millions of years ago.

Once almost extinct, Homo sapiens are very resilient creatures. Currently human beings dominate every single continent except for Antarctica. We are the only known species capable of building a fire, cooking food and getting dressed (clothing ourselves).

As an adult, my fascination with this topic is really more from an anatomy perspective. Did you know that there are some parts of our body that we are evolving out of? Some examples of this include goose bumps, some ear muscles, wisdom teeth and our appendix. You can read more about that on Listverse.

It’s always interesting to see how artists interpret these kinds of things. I wrote a post a while back with a collection of Last Supper Illustrations which went viral. I’m very grateful for that, and it made me realize I’m not the only one who enjoys seeing all the different artistic interpretations of historical events. I also really liked seeing this artist’s prediction of how technology will affect our evolution. That was creepy cool for sure. Today I’d like to share with you what different artists view as The Evolution of Man. I hope you enjoy these illustrations as much as I did. The credits for the images are listed at the end.
