Tea-Tanic: The Tea Bag Holder Inspired By The Titanic

Tea-Bag-Titanic-Design

As most of us know, last month marked the 100th anniversary of the Titanic tragedy. Although it was a tremendously sad event, I giggled about the report that surfaced which showed that many Twitter users didn’t know that the story of the Titanic was a real event. They thought it was all made up just for the movie. You can read some of those funny tweets here.

There have been many designs inspired by the Titanic which were introduced online over the past month, but I think this one is my favorite. Part of that is because it’s an ingenious little design, but part of that is also because I have a very close friend who loves tea… A LOT! This tea bag holder, which is called the Tea-Tanic is shaped just like the famous ship that sunk back on April 15, 1912. It’s designed to fit all coffee and tea mugs. You just simply squeeze the device to squish your tea bag.

This little contraption was designed by Gordon Adler, and you can purchase it on Tea-Tanic for 13 Euros. It’s definitely a design that will make you smile, which is ironic considering the event. It’s a wonderful tribute nonetheless. I’d love to add this to my tea accessories. On second thought, if I had this, I probably wouldn’t use it everyday since it would remind me of such a devastating event. But then again, if I just think about the beautiful love story in the movie, it could all be fun after all.
