Sweet Meat: Ice Cream Desserts Made From Raw Meat

Desserts Made From Raw Meat

Uh oh… I already know my dear friend @VeganMeans is not going to like this post very much. When you look at the desserts below, what do you see? Do you see delicious sweet ice cream treats? You might be surprised by what these artistic pieces are truly made of. I have to admit; I eat meat, yet my stomach is turning a little bit from looking at these.

Jamine Schuller created these unusual designs, and her inspiration was an experience she had with her former vegan roommate who created a turkey out of Tofu. These desserts, part of a collection called Sweet Meat, are made from a raw pig’s heart, minced meat and animal fat. *gag* She used two liters of blood (looks like chocolate sauce), a bunch of grease and 5 kilos of raw meat. The cherry on top of the ice cream sundae is the pig’s heart.

You can view more of Jasmine’s work on her website. One thing I was unable to find is what exactly these would be used for. Perhaps it’s just for these interesting photographs. I can’t help but wonder if Jasmine cooked and ate this meat when she was finished making these. Hey, on the bright side, at least they aren’t full of sugar like ordinary desserts.
