You know you’re a geek when you get more excited about a pair of Super Mario Converse sneakers than a pair of Jimmy Choos. Yup, that’s me. I can envision myself sportin these retro shoes immediately! However, if you are drooling over them too, I should probably let you in on the bad news…
These sneakers will only be available in Japan. Rumor has it that since they are limited edition, they will be snatched up by collectors before any of us even have a chance at importing a pair. The designs are all part of the Mario themed Chuck Taylor shoe designs which Converse originally announced a few months ago. They are created as part of the celebration to honor Super Mario’s 25th anniversary (Wow, has it really been that long?). They will be available in Japan this summer.
As you see in the pictures, they are so well designed. They even have an epic picture under the cuff of Mario collecting coins and Princess Peach thanking him. The blue ones are definitely my favorite. Oh well, I suppose we’ll just have to pretend we own a pair of these, or take a trip to Japan to get them!
