Star Wars Identities: Amazingly Creative Star Wars Posters

star-wars-identities-poster-design

A lot of people have come to believe that we are complete Star Wars maniacs here at Bit Rebels, and by all means we are. The fact is, I have an admiration for the innovative technology that George Lucas was able to dream up about 30 years ago. It completely draws you into the story, and in many cases, becomes a part of the storyline itself. There are of course a million things you can say about the concept and the genius behind Star Wars, but it is when you look at the posters that the urge to see one or two of the movies becomes the strongest. There have been a lot of reproductions and variants of the original Star Wars posters, so presenting even more might seem a little over the top. Well, not if you haven’t seen these yet.

This series of Star Wars posters is called Star Wars Identities and is created by the brilliant minds behind the ad agency that Lucasfilm decided to use for their upcoming Star Wars Identities exhibition in Montreal, Canada on April 19. It is a set of seriously badass posters where they used scenes and gear from the actual movies to cleverly identify the legendary characters of the franchise.

I especially love the way they managed to make it all look seamless, until you start to look closer at the details. Then it becomes clear that the characters are completely made up of the mesmerizing scenery and gadgetry that we all have dreamed of wandering around in and using. The only thing that really makes up the outline of the characters is the cutout hole that serves as the character’s profile. This is a truly genius way to portray a world that has become almost a part of our own. I could keep staring at these posters for hours on end. They really make me want to watch the whole series of movies all over again, without stopping.
