Star Wars, Harry Potter & Lego All On One Magically Geeky Cake

Star-Wars-Harry-Potter-Cake

My mother is an extremely talented cake designer and sculptor, and as a result of that, I was very blessed when I was a little girl because I always had the best birthday cakes on the block. The night before my birthday she would always stay up all night long making my cake, and when I woke up in the morning, it was a huge surprise to see what it was. It was always some elaborate 3D layered creation that blew my mind. Since I grew up with a real appreciation for cake decorating, even today I always notice super cool cakes when I’m surfing around the interwebz.

These days I usually feature cupcakes more than regular cakes here on Bit Rebels, but every once in a while, I see a cake that I just can’t resist showing you. This one is extra special because it combines Star Wars, Harry Potter and Lego. As far as geeky cakes go, it doesn’t get much better than that!

This beauty of a cake was created by Jean Schapowal from Cakes with Character in Hicksville, NY. She created that book, drew the pages and hand-sculpted those Lego minifigs which she then placed around the edge of the cake. Wow, I’m sure any kid would love to have this cake, but I also want it for myself. We never get too old for something this special. What an incredible creation. I wonder how long it took her to make this. A couple weeks ago, I wrote about some Star Wars Cupcakes With Handmade Edible Lego Minifigs. One of these days I’m going to figure out how these extraordinary bakers make those minifigs by hand. They are just soooo creative and fun!
