Silhouette Art: Your Loved One’s Face Carved Into A Keepsake

Face Shape Personalized Engraved Gadgets

I just wrote an article yesterday about some mind-blowing shadow art. I have something similar to show you today that is equally as riveting. This is like shadow art with a twist, and it’s called silhouette art. This must be the most personalized, customized thing you could ever get someone. If you glace at the ring and the baby rattles below (which are just a few examples), they look pretty ordinary, right? That’s what I thought too, until I looked much closer.

Do you see the grooves in the sides of each one? That is the silhouette (facial profile) of a specific person carved into the piece. Russell Greenberg of Cameo By Rux got the idea to create these when he designed his own wedding ring based on the profile of his wife’s face. Now, four years later, his company creates rings, bangles and even baby rattles with the silhouette of loved ones carved in the side.

This is such a beautifully subtle type of creativity. It’s so private and special. Nobody, unless they looked very closely, would ever know that each piece was custom created to resemble a person’s facial features. What a brilliant idea. They are a little bit pricey (the baby rattle is $180), but that is still a small price to pay for something so unique. You can learn more about this and see more examples on Cameo By Rux.
