Pumpkin DJ: A Pumpkin Carving Design That Spins Records

badass-pumpkin-carving-design-dj

I’m such a sucker for creative pumpkin carving designs. They come in all different styles and sizes, and once you start getting into it, you’ll be surprised at what you can create with a pumpkin and a carving knife. Nowadays, designers are even getting fancy and carving artificial pumpkins that people can put a candle inside and display indoors all season. I remember last year we had a Darth Vader custom carved artificial pumpkin created that we gave away here on Bit Rebels. The winner, Gian Faye, posted some pictures of it on Unboxing The Darth Vader if you want to check it out.

Some people take pumpkin carving to the extreme. The pumpkin carving designs some people create would blow your mind. Like, for example, look at this Predator Pumpkin. It’s simply astonishing. Today I’d like to share another pumpkin carving design that I thought was truly a masterpiece. It’s a pumpkin DJ! Omg, it’s so cute, and I would love to have that little guy.

He was carved by Andy Bergholtz, who is already pretty popular in the comic book industry. He teamed up with Ray Villafane (the designer who made the Predator pumpkin) and this DJ pumpkin carving design was born. Andy named him DJ Pump. Nice! This little cutie is spinning some records in his own little jam session. According to Andy, it took much longer to design DJ Pump and set up this photograph than it did to actually carve him. It only took a few hours to carve. Andy and Ray have a lot of fun carving events coming up over the next few weeks, and you can follow it all by checking out Andy on Facebook. For me, well, I’ve decided not to carve a fancy pumpkin this year. I’m going for a more laid back approach. I’m going to create a Pumpkin Beer Keg instead.
