Pinup Mythology: An Unlikely Mashup Turns Into Inspiration

Pinup Mythology Art Cartoon Collection

Many times we have explored the many unlikely mashups in the world, and usually they come to be huge successes on the Internet. They never end, and they get more and more crazy by the day. It’s great inspiration since we all get to peek into new areas of creativity which we would probably never have entered if it wasn’t for the craziness people keep dreaming up. For example, we’ve seen Star Wars and Star Trek blended with Hello Kitty and a rubber duck. It was all mashed up into some kind of odd must-have item which we will most likely put on our shelf sooner or later to impress the people coming to visit our living spaces.

To further educate you in the odd and wonderful world of mashups, I stumbled over some quite interesting pieces of artwork called Pinups Mythology. It’s exactly what you think it is, and you will hopefully marvel over the creativity in these art pieces. They come from the brilliant mind of Simon Eckert, and they have a touch of Disney if I may say so myself. The style of his art reminds me of the same brushstrokes that for so many years have been connected with Disney, but don’t go thinking these have anything to do with that. This is purely Simon’s art, and it’s clever and intriguing.

For probably the first time ever, the mythology that we see in movies and books is brought into a whole different kind of spotlight. Honestly, I never thought I’d ever see the word mythology mashed up with pinup. Now when I see it, it’s not such a bad combination actually. Just keep your mind a little bit pivoted and on the edge, and you will come up with something that will most likely go viral as well. It’s all about perspective and entering new territories. This certainly does that, and it serves up some great inspiration, don’t you agree?
