Instagram Cheat Sheet: 14 Tips To Master It All [Infographic]

We have all heard the news that’s been going around for a while now that Facebook bought Instagram for a cheap $300 million. In the beginning, there were numbers presented that said the whole deal cost Facebook about $1 billion total to acquire Instagram. However, we now know that wasn’t true. But it’s quite an interesting acquisition that a lot of investment experts and technology writers are trying to figure out. Slowly there are more details trickling out, but until Facebook really announces them, I will wait to see what they have in mind for this heavily popular photography service.

It always surprises me that so many people are so into photography these days. Why is that? Well, simply because it used to take so much creativity to achieve impressive results. Now it seems that everyone and their mother is sharing pictures that are just stunningly awesome and impressive. This is no doubt thanks to Photoshop, Instagram and a bunch of other services and software.

For anyone who might be a little bit new to the whole Instagram approach to photography, I thought I might hit up something that could help you on your way to an easier injection into the service. Maybe this will even appeal to some of the really hardcore users as well. It’s a cheat sheet in the form of an infographic that will ultimately share 14 tips and tricks on how to use Instagram like a pro. It also outlines the ways to interact on Instagram in order to build your influence on there. It’s put together by Fat Mum Slim and is a compilation of all her acquired knowledge from her interaction and usage in this highly creative community. So, all you need to do now is have a look at this and then hit Instagram hard so you can get noticed for all your creative and impressive photos.

I’ve never used instagram, and I tried to create an account today. I swear I must have entered 100 different usernames, and every single one was unavailable. Anything that contained any variation of any portion of my name, even when combined with purely random letter number combinations for permutation, returned an error that it was taken. And I have a very uncommon name. Is there some sort of bulk word reservation or blocking going on with instagram?

I’m posting to instagram mostly on the go, from my phone, using few apps and few effects, and then I share that with my facebook many friends. Still, all likes come from facebook friends (on facebook and on instagram), still no likes or much followers from inside instagram only. I guess I need to do some homework about that. You can follow me at @zokimaster . Thanks!

This is a great infographic illustrating how strong is instagram’s business potential. Keeping users engaged pays off directly, thousands of entrepreneurs can confirm. But the app itself is only good for customers, for those who try to attract people it’s not enough. It’s almost impossible to build up a good follower base without apps for statistics and search, and then maintain it without fast-follow services allowing to filter existing base. This is actually a very underrated domain, not many users understand the importance of possibility to unfollow like 5k people at once, but as a person who faced this necessity I can relate. Stay close to your customers and you’ll reach the success.

Great Instagram tips, I find that a lot of photography rules can apply with some caveats to fit a square format. I just did a post on some of my findings and other photo tips.
