Inspiration: An Indoor Picnic Table Created With Real Grass

Creative Indoor Picnic Table Design

If you live in a big city like I do, you probably don’t get to go on very many cozy picnics in the park. I love going on picnics, it’s one of my favorite things to do, although it’s been a few years since I’ve had the chance to go on one. Where I live, in Atlanta, there is actually more wildlife outside than most big cities, like NYC. However, there still isn’t much space to take a real picnic without having to drive a little while.

When I first saw this table design, I knew I had to share it with you. This is called the picNYC Table. It’s designed for people who want a picnic experience without having to sit on the ground outside, but for me, I see a way for people in big cities to still be able to experience a picnic at home.

It was created by Haiko Cornelissen Architecten, and it’s covered in real grass, dirt and water draining stones. According to the designer, “Suddenly spilling water becomes a necessity instead of a problem.” That’s right, since the grass is real, this table requires attention, kind of like a garden. The real question is, would you leave this table on the porch or bring it inside? I think I would do a little of both! #want
