When I first started entering the images for this article, my first impression was that this mashup must be one of the more twisted and freaky ones we’ve featured on Bit Rebels. I mean, mashing up our childhood memories of watching Charlie Brown with the well-meaning demon Hellboy just seems wrong. It’s like that time we wrote about that Star Wars and Hello Kitty mashup. I mean, wtf, right?
The more I looked at these images though, the more they grew on me. Now I think they are almost adorable, in a strange kind of way. I don’t think we have ever written about the Peanuts gang with Charlie Brown and Snoopy, so for that reason, it is so much fun to write about this.
These were created by Francesco Francavilla who is of course known for his creative illustrations (and all his designs for Marvel). This collection is called Hellbrown, and it will make you look at the Peanuts gang in a whole new way. I actually think Lucy and Linus look better like this, it’s a nice change to see them looking stylish and updated a little. Even Charlie Brown looks like a cutie with his little goatee.
