I haven’t written about a pair of flat shoes since I started writing here at Bit Rebels, but there’s a first time for everything, right? I normally subscribe to the mantra that girls can do anything in the whole world if they have the right shoes, and normally for me, those shoes come with at least a three-inch heel. These shoes are just so cute though that I might be able to bend my own rules for them.
These geeky sparkly glitter shoes were created by artist Catherine Gretschel (aishavoya). They are simple ballet flats turned into extraordinary glitter extravaganzas. If you are a fan of sparkles (like me), you’ll love these. They are even covered in resin to keep the glitter from wearing off.
As you’ll see, she created shoes for the Star Wars rebel alliance, Pikachu, Mario mushrooms, My Little Pony and Sailor Moon Luna and Artemis. And, yes, these are adult shoes. I’m a size 7 shoe, and I’ll take one of each please. They are a little pricey, but like we always say, being a geek ain’t cheap! You can pick a pair up for yourself and view the rest of Catherine’s creations in her Etsy store. These start at $55 and go up to around $80 per pair. I wonder if the glitter comes off when they get wet. I would like to wear a pair to the beach when I go next week.
