Floating Houses: Levitation Photography Gets Spooky
If you remember, a few months ago the self-levitating photography art of Natsumi Hayashi, the teenager from Tokyo, exploded on the Internet. Once that happened, suddenly it became cool to levitate. We even published an article that explained how to photograph yourself in the air.
It seems as though Spanish photographer Rafa Zubiria is taking it up a notch. Forget about photographing levitating bodies, how about levitating houses? In his photography series called No Way Home, he creates beautiful photographs of houses in the air.
I notice a lot more going on here than just the houses though. The photos themselves have a bizarrely eerie feeling to them, almost as if to portray a scary movie or an Alfred Hitchcock story. Rafa Zubiria’s website describes his images as disturbing and dreamlike surrealism. I have no idea how he made these look so real, but I love this kind of spooky stuff. It’s the kinda thing nightmares are made of. It reminds me of that movie The Amityville Horror.
