Fallen Disney Princesses: It’s Not Always Happily Ever After

Dead Disney Princesses Photography

This photography is dark, eerie and even a little scary. When you first glance at it, it gives you a little shock, kind of like throwing a glass of cold water on your face. We’ve probably written a dozen articles about the Disney princesses over the past few years, and it only makes sense that we add one about these fallen princesses to the list.

One thing is for sure when you watch a Disney movie with these princesses at the theater (besides the fact that you’ll be clawing your seat, ready to leave, an hour before it’s over), and that is that they always have a happy ending. Even though there are some teary parts in the middle, everyone is always joyful and smiling at the end.

What if it wasn’t like that? What if those classic fairy tales ended in a more sinister way? What if the princess gets killed like in a horror movie? What if you got up from that theater seat, started to walk out, and said to yourself, “That was strange. I thought it was supposed to end happily ever after.” That is the scene photographer Thomas Czarnecki portrays in these photos. You’ll see Little Red Riding Hood, Alice in Wonderland, Sleeping Beauty, Little Mermaid, Snow White, Pocahontas, Cinderella and more in these very well done photos. What a refreshing change, even if it is a little creepy.
