Face Distorting Jewelry – Inspired by Pablo Picasso
According to Turkish designer, Burcu Buyukunal, there is nothing prettier on a lady than her not wanting to look pretty. This face distorting jewelry completely creeps me out, but you have to admit, it has a very Pablo Picasso feel in an artsy kind of way.
Who knows, it’s also possible that it is inspired by the Joker. It has that strange “I’m smiling behind a tortured face” look to it too. I understand the whole concept that society’s norms about what is considered beautiful can be twisted, and I agree with that. However, I don’t think I would ever purposely mangle my face to make that point. I guess for some people, the shock value is reason enough to wear these. What do you think of it?
