Extreme Face Painting: Designed To Mimic Famous Artwork

Just a few weeks ago I wrote an article about an incredible artist who designs complete Disney movie scenes with makeup on her eyelids. It’s really the kind of thing you have to see to believe. If you want to see it for yourself, you can check out Eyelid Art.

Today I would like to share with you another artist who also creates some insane designs on his face, but he uses his entire face and part of his upper body. Andy Alcaia creates unique self-portraits by painting his face to look like famous artwork. If you browse through the collection below, you might recognize the works of Vincent van Gogh, Andy Warhol, Piet Mondrian, Banksy, and more.

You can click on over to his flickr photostream to see all of them, and the exact artwork he attempted to recreate. Andy is only 20 years old. He and Katie Alves, who created the eyelid art mentioned above, are both part of a growing artistic community of people around the world who are so young yet have so much talent. You can see his wisdom in these pictures, which by the way he photographed himself. I love it when creativity just oooozes like this!
