Extreme Eyelashes: The Most Outrageous Eye Jewelry Ever Created

extreme-eyelashes-eye-art-jewelry

We all know that as we scoot around the Internet each day, we come across things that are somewhat bizarre. We stare at those things for about two seconds, and then we move on. But every once in a while, it’s something so strange that it makes you look around to be sure you are still on planet earth. This was one of those things, so I had to stop what I was doing and write this so I could share it with you. Welcome to the world of extreme eyelashes.

Artists have been inspired by eyelashes for ages, and this isn’t the first time I’ve written about extreme eyelashes. If you want to read more, check out the eyelashes made from dead fly legs and the LED eyelashes.

Today it’s more about eyelash jewelry, and as you see in the pictures below, this really does exist. These eyelashes were created by Natalie, and she sells them in her EyelashJewelry Etsy store for $15 – $60 each. According to Etsy, her “eyelash jewelry is made by hand-weaving tiny glass beads onto ultra thin wire. This creates a light-weight, flexible band that can be formed to the shape of any eye. Simply bend the jewelry into the proper shape, apply a thin layer of adhesive, and press it directly above your eyelashes.” I gotta admit, these have more personality than any fake eyelashes I’ve ever worn before.

The white snowflake one you see below (1st picture) is the most expensive one, and it was created with thin wisps of naturally white feathers from an albino peacock. The beads on that one are 24k gold plated and attached to the feathers with a dot of glue. This may be a silly question, but what if they fall off? Wow, these are what I call some extreme eyelashes!
