Let me warn you that you’ll need a somewhat twisted sense of humor to appreciate these illustrations. Instead of frolicking in the enchanted forest, these Disney characters have definitely become disenchanted with their squeaky clean images.
As I’ve written before, I can’t figure out what is up with artists turning our favorite childhood characters into psycho killers, strippers and sluts. Oh, and after seeing this collection, add drug addicts to the list too. We’ve seen it many times before. There was Woody from Toy Story as a psycho pervert, Disney princesses with hardly any clothes on, all kinds of Disney characters as strippers, and I could go on and on.
Whatever the motivation is for creating these illustrations, they will definitely give your brain a little juggle. These were created by artist José Rodolfo Loaiza Ontiveros. According to La Luz de Jesus, “During his visual journey, Loaiza attaches a human reality as embodied by perversion, voyeurism and addiction. This art is intended to make the viewer question his or her own stance on the issues.” I still haven’t decided if I like these or not. Some of them are a little over the edge for me.
