6 Game Of Thrones Emotional Character Illustrations

Are you addicted and missing the Game of Thrones TV show? Are you having withdrawals like me? If you don’t have a clue about the HBO-series Game of Thrones, you must go watch it now. I am dead serious. It is the best all around show on right now. The storyline is complicated and super good, well better than super good – darn brilliant. I know Spider-Man and Batman are uber popular superhero stories, and super fans can’t get enough of them. Don’t get me wrong, I love them too, but I need some new creative mythical fiction for entertainment. George R. R. Martin’s characters do not disappoint viewers.

I love getting to know each character as they are revealed on the show, and I know you will too. I admit it, I have not picked up the books ‘A Song of Ice and Fire’ to read – yet. I know I could download them onto my iPad using the kindle app right now and instantly dig in. I have decided at this point to wait and enjoy the TV drama before I read the books because I know there will be differences. Don’t judge me,  I do read a ton of books that are not fiction or fantasy. I am invested in watching the talented actors bring their stories to life rather than reading and making up my own fantasy in my head. This is my stand for the moment. I am completely caught up in the beauty of the costume design on the set of Game of Thrones.

I am not the only one who believes the TV mini-series costumes are amazing because I just read via Huffington Post that the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences partnered with the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising to celebrate small-screen TV costume design in a new exhibit “The Outstanding Art of Television Costume Design.” The exhibition will feature costume designers for this year’s Primetime Emmys, and we will get to see the nominated Game of Thrones costume design selection. If you are lucky enough to live or be near Los Angeles, you can see the exhibit in person at the FIDM Museum on Grand Avenue.

So what is all the fuss about Game of Thrones? Viewers follow multiple family stories and the politics within the kingdoms that hold mouth-watering social complexities and mystery. Oh, and add in a little magic and baby dragons and viola I am hooked. Season two proved even better than season one at building and keeping a creative pace that continued to keep fans on the edge of their seats wanting more. I could have posted photos of the actual costumes, but honestly, these 6 illustrations I picked from deviantART artists feature many of the fans favorite characters depicting emotional moments in their ah-mazing costumes. Go now, catch up and join the ranks of fans that eagerly wait for the next season to come to life!
