I think it is safe to say that Bitcoin has been the world’s greatest investment opportunity in 2017. It should also be noted that most trading experts, if not all of them, have been wrong in predicting the Bitcoin price. And now, casually predicting that it will hit $20,000 before the end of 2017 is probably wrong as well. Could it even hit $25,000 by the end of the year? We can only speculate.
Trying to predict next year’s all-time-high is virtually impossible if 2017 is anything to go by. Considering that the value of one Bitcoin has increased by over 2,000% this year (2017) alone, it is probably just your imagination that can decide what heights this mother of all cryptocurrency can reach in 2018.
Aaron Gray from Sports Betting Dime says on his article, Predicting the Future Price of Bitcoin: Is It Digital Gold? – “what we do know is that there are several potential occurrences that will either drive the price of Bitcoin up or down in the near future. For instance, if big financial institutions start investing in Bitcoin, it will gain legitimacy and its price will go up. On the other hand, if there’s a major security breach at a Bitcoin exchange, the public will lose confidence in the virtual currency and its price will fall.”
Predicting The Price Of Bitcoin In 2018
I first came across Bitcoin when the price was around $95.00 back in 2013. If someone would have told me that Bitcoin would be priced at $16.000 in 2017 I would certainly have been thinking that he or she was utterly mad. Fast forward a few years and I no longer think that Bitcoin hitting $50.000 in 2018 is such a crazy idea. As a matter of fact, when you look at it, should the value of Bitcoin increase just 10% of the percentage that it has increased in 2017, we will see a value of Bitcoin at around $50.000. So, my prediction, be it personal and by all means humble, is that Bitcoin will certainly hit $100.000 in 2018.
Many investment experts have said that Bitcoin, within a few years, will be valued at $1,000,000 per coin, and even that no longer sounds like a crazy idea to me. I wouldn’t be surprised if it would one day, in the near future, be valued at ten times that amount.
Cryptocurrency Is Going Mainstream
More and more people discover the beauty of cryptocurrency and it is definitely going mainstream. So much that wallets and exchanges like Coinbase, Bitfinex, and Bittrex have a hard time keeping up with the demand. We have all heard of growing pains for new companies in their infancies, but this is almost unheard of.
People are simply starting to see what an insanely great investment opportunity that crypto (cryptocurrency) really is. Just recently, even my family is starting to ask me if it is a good idea to start investing in crypto. As you might be able to imagine, my answer to that questions is a definite yes.
My response is always to get in now and start investing. We even have a great Bitcoin investment tutorial here on Bit Rebels that you should definitely check out.
Bitcoin In The Future
So, what can we expect from Bitcoin (and other cryptocurrencies) in the future? Well, I think it is safe to say that Bitcoin is going to be accepted at more and more retailers, shops and services.
The volatility of the Bitcoin price is going to cool down to the point where it is reliable enough to use as currency for products and services around the world. Do I think that Bitcoin is going to be the only cryptocurrency that is going to be accepted? No, far from it. I think Ethereum, Litecoin, IOTA, EOS and NXT is going to be a few true winners.
I would like to end this article by saying that there is a misconception about Bitcoin that I would like to clear up. Many people new to cryptocurrency seem to think that you can only buy entire Bitcoins. This is not true.
You can buy parts of Bitcoins even down to a few dollars worth. So, if you’ve been thinking you can’t invest in Bitcoin, or any other cryptocurrency, because the price is too high and you missed the train, well, you haven’t. Far from it! The cryptocurrency revolution has just begun.
