There are people in customer service who pride themselves on genuinely helping customers, but there are just as many who don’t. Sometimes it feels like customer service barely exists anymore. Social media has affected customer service in a good way, but there is a long way to go. These are 25 customer service skills that anyone working in that field might benefit from having.

I know that working in customer service can be stressful and exhausting. It takes a special kind of person to enjoy that type of work. I mean, imagine what it would be like to talk to disgruntled customers all day long. It’s like solving one problem just to go to the next problem, nonstop. Everyone wants and expects excellent customer service but few of us can provide it all of the time.

The starting point for excellent customer service is identifying and hiring employees who will give excellent customer service all the time.

It is not hard to find and hire excellent customer service representatives but we do need to know how to do it.
