Crowdfunding 101: How To Get Funded Online [Infographic]

how-to-get-funded-online

Yesterday I read an article on Forbes about how crowdfunding could potentially change the face of consumer electronics. In that article, there was a list of products showcased at CES this year which came into existence because of crowdfunding. If you want to know how to get funded online, this could be the way to go for you also.

If you are unfamiliar with the crowdfunding concept, it describes the collaborative efforts of many people who pool their money online to support the efforts of other people. It can be used for all kinds of things, but the most popular seems to be startup company funding.

There are many different crowdfunding websites, and the two most popular ones I can think of are Kickstarter and Indiegogo. We write regularly write about inspiring innovation on both of those sites, and there have been countless examples of people who have experienced massive success on them. Crowdfunding is still a relatively new concept that is developing, and it’s opening the door for entrepreneurs all over the world who might not otherwise have a way to present their idea or product to the masses.

If crowdfunding is something you are interested in, I encourage you to check out an article on Hongkiat called 10 Crowdfunding Sites To Fuel Your Dream Project. If you want to know how to get funded using this method, that article will be a valuable resource for you. It breaks down 10 different crowdfunding sites and lists their unique features and fees.

Anna Vital and Vlad Shyshov at Funders and Founders recently put together this infographic called Getting Funded Online: The Many Ways Of Crowdfunding which shows you roughly how to get funded in this way and what the process is like. They also currently have their own Kickstarter project running because they want to create a “Becoming an Entrepreneur” infographic book. If you have a dream, and if it’s to create a product that could make a positive impact on the world, but you need funding, crowdfunding could be the way to go!
