Top 10 Best Ad Campaigns & Slogans Of All Time [Infographic]

best-ad-campaigns-and-slogans

When you think back over the past few decades, what are the best ad campaigns that come to your mind? There are so many I can think of immediately, but there are two that stand out more than others to me. The Apple ads from back in the ’80s were revolutionary at the time (check out these vintage Apple ads), but I also remember the Wendy’s “Where’s the beef?” ad campaign. It came out when I was a kid, and to this day I giggle when I think about that commercial.

I also remember the brilliant product placement of the Reese’s Pieces in the movie E.T. which is one of my favorite movies of all time. I never liked Reese’s Pieces before watching that movie, but ever since then, I love them and think of E.T. every time I have one. Within months after E.T. was released, Reese’s Pieces sales rose by 65%! According to Snopes, originally Amblin Productions approached Mars, Inc. about using M&Ms in the film. When they turned down the opportunity (they apparently thought being associated with an alien wasn’t good for the brand), they approached Hershey about including Reese’s Pieces. The rest is movie history.

It’s interesting to note that the Nike Swoosh, which has been the focus of their ad campaigns for decades, was created by a Portland State University graphic student named Carolyn Davidson. She designed it in the early 70s, and Nike paid $35 for it. I wonder what that would be worth today.

In this infographic called Best Ad Campaigns Of All Time which was recently posted on Ads Of The World, you’ll get to take a walk down memory lane and relive some of the best ad campaigns and slogans of our time. There is also a lot on here that we can learn from each one of these. Enjoy!
