No Hassle Fitness App Tracks Your Movement Through Your Smartphone

moves-fitness-app-tracks-walking

There are too many fitness apps to count, but this is the easiest one I’ve come across yet. The reason this app called Moves is different is because it runs silently in the background on your smartphone and tracks your daily movement all day long without you having to do anything to activate it. It does all this without requiring you to get an accompanying wristband or any other device to make it work.

This fitness app is completely hassle-free since all you have to do to track your movement is take your smartphone with you wherever you go (which we all do anyway). This free app is smart enough to know when you are walking, running or even riding your bike. It’s basically like an iPhone pedometer, only much smarter.

According to All Things D, this fitness app “uses adaptive techniques to minimize battery drain by drawing cell-tower data most of the time, and then activating GPS when the accelerometer moves in a recognized way.”

As most geeks know, our excessive sitting while on our computers can kill us over the long run if we don’t get up and move at least a few minutes each hour. Sitting all day long everyday yet exercising for 30 minutes three times a week isn’t enough. Even if you do that, you’re still sitting too much if you work or play on a computer all day.

Getting healthy these days isn’t about spending hours in the gym at ungodly hours. Instead, it’s about fitting any kind of movement into our day in whatever way we can. That is why this app tracks “movement.” It’s moving that is critical to our health. This fitness app will track your movement without hardly any effort on your part. You will be able to track your progress and slowly increase your movement each day. It can be like a game. This app is free, and you can check it out here on iTunes.
