CouchCachet Tweets Your Fake Exciting Life If You Don’t Have One

couch-potato-exciting-life

According to the CouchCachet app website, you can start living the life you’ve always wanted without ever leaving your house. Suddenly lounging on the couch with the remote in one hand and a beer in the other just became cool again. That’s right, this app will create and tweet an exciting life for you if you don’t have one in real life. It even goes so far as to check you in to the coolest parties with Foursquare and tweet pictures from Instagram.

You can do all this from the comfort of your own couch. Gone are the days when you have to actually have an exciting life to share an exciting life on social media. This app is all based on FOMO (the fear of missing out). We sometimes like to just veg out at home, but we get worried that we might be missing out on something. Now we can ease the anxiety caused by FOMO through pretending like we were really at those places. I’m sure Dr. Phil would have a heyday with this app.

CouchCachet was originally created as a joke, but apparently it fills a need that some people have. Nobody wants to be the one sending a tweet on Saturday night that says “I’m just hanging out at home watching a movie and eating a pizza” when everyone else is checking in and tweeting pictures from all the cool places in town. This app fixes that. By creating a fake exciting life, now you too can be part of the “in crowd” in social media.

A word of caution though…Remember that weaving a web of lies might be harder to keep track of than you may realize. When your friends ask you about your weekend, you might have to consult your own Twitter page to find out what you did before you answer them.
