Bit Rebels About

Bit Rebels is a continuously evolving and dedicated media entity with a mission to report the latest news in technology, social media, design and everything considered geek. Our enthusiastic approach to researching and presenting current news has become synonymous with the way we operate, deliver and interact in our media outlets.

Bit Rebels was founded in June 2009 by Richard Darell when he noticed the lack of on-the-go news resources that fit the growing demand of people in constant motion. Instead of bulky and time consuming articles and in-depth news, he envisioned a lighter yet fully compatible news outlet that serves bite-sized articles which could be consumed in 5 minutes or less.

Three weeks after the site launched, Richard was joined by Diana Adams who shows the same tireless dedication and excitement for where media is heading. The two share the same never-ending commitment to bring the very best that the web has to offer, which today serves as the backbone of the entity that has now become globally known for its many different facets of fast paced news reporting.

Today Bit Rebels welcomes 2.5 million monthly unique visitors, which translates to around 3.5 million monthly pageviews. It is one of the fastest growing news websites online, and we are in the process of adding even more branches to this already multithreaded media outlet.

We host approximately 100 writers who deliver their expertise and knowledge through concise, relevant and information packed articles. Our goal is to cover the entire spectrum of topics within our core focus.

Richard Darell
FOUNDER & CEO

Richard Darell is the founder and CEO of Bit Rebels, a multifaceted online news outlet that reports daily on the latest developments in technology, social media, design and everything geek. Today this media entity welcomes more than 2.5 million unique visitors per month and is considered the go to place for people in constant motion.

As an Internet entrepreneur, he is dedicated to constantly trying to develop new ways to bring content faster and closer to the end user in a more streamlined way. His excitement for statistics has allowed him to further develop systems that continuously produce accurate and fast-paced analytics to better optimize the approach by which Bit Rebels presents news and content.

His graphic design background has proven to be an important tool when designing new systems and features for Bit Rebels since the development of solid and stable code depends entirely on their structure and implemented procedures.

Richard currently resides in Stockholm, Sweden and directs the Bit Rebels offices in both Stockholm and Atlanta.

She brought fifteen years of Information Technology experience and a love of everything considered geek with her, and she enjoys the journey each day as the site continues to reach more people and progress at a very fast pace.

You can usually find Diana working in the Bit Rebels office located in Atlanta or sitting in the corner of a downtown Starbucks somewhere with her MacBook, iPad, iPhone and a Grande Caramel Macchiato.

As CEO of engageSimply, a social commerce tech start up, I am on this unexpected journey to launch a tech venture. I am also on a crusade to bring the human element back to marketing.

In my previous lives at AT&T, Bell Labs, CA and a few startups along the way, I learned to love tech but understood how to put it to work for people. Even though I don’t fit the archetype of a tech CEO. I am not a guy. I can’t code. I am not 20 something or 30 something and or even 40 something.

But we are on this journey to bring the human element back to tech marketing & that makes us a rebel startup. Watch this space. Our venture launches soon.
